Simple wildlife photos

i do love to see posts from pros like Steve Magennis showing their amazing images and it inspires me to take more wildlife shots.

I’m blessed to have lakes around our home so I don’t need to travel to find birds and here I just sat this morning with my 70-200mm and 2x converter snapping away.

I tried setting the focus to servo so I could lock onto the birds and follow them, that was no good. Then I tried ‘one shot’ and  was struggling too so I ended up on manual focus with much better results!
In Lightroom I’ve cropped them, added a vignette and made a few tweaks but nothing fancy.

What do you think? You could get the same reach with a 70-300mm on your camera so why not pop to your local park and have a go!
